New! Google Grants $100,000 to Tech Choices!
We are delighted to announce that Google.org has awarded Girl Scouts of Northern California a
$100,000 grant in support of Tech Choices, a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program that provides engineering and robotics hands-on learning experiences to girls in grades K-8.
Girl Scouts of Northern California is one of several dozen organizations receiving grants from Google.org at the end of 2011 through Google Gives Back. Our grant is part of over $100 million in total charitable giving from Google in 2011. Click here for more ...

Tech Choices K-3 Program Boxes
Our Tech Choices program now includes exciting engineering topics for girls in grades K-3!
Each program has all the materials and instructions for three 90-minute activity sessions in a box. The non-refundable cost of $5 per girl for each box covers the materials each girl will use up. There is also a $100/box refundable deposit.

- Create special effects for the movies and learn about the chemical properties of paint, explosions and slime.

- Design and construct buildings, towers and bridges as an employee of the Little Pig Construction Company.
New! Electrical Engineering
- Explore the uses of magnets, electricity and electromagnets through hands-on activities and challenges.
Techbridge Program Boxes
Now girls in grades 4-12 can discover the thrill of using the engineering process to design their projects and connect with women engineers in exciting careers.
Each program has all the materials and instructions for 4 to 5 90-minute activity sessions in a box. The non-refundable cost of $10 per girl for each box covers the materials each girl will use up. There is also a $100/box refundable deposit.

Make It Green - Build a sustainable house inside and out
- Construct a green studio from start to finish - from brainstorming an idea, to creating a floor plan, to building "green."
Power It Up - A high-voltage introduction to circuitry and soldering
- Master electricity and circuits through a series of hands-on investigations, with the option to use a soldering iron.
